Write and Burn – Privacy Policy

In short: Write and Burn does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The app has no internet access. Your notes and photos never leave your device, and they are not saved anywhere. Once burned, they are gone.

1. Information we collect

None. Write and Burn does not collect personal or sensitive information. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, and no crash-reporting services. The app does not request the internet permission, so it cannot send data off your device.

2. Notes you write

Text you type is held only in your device's memory so it can be shown on the paper and burned. It is never written to storage, copied, or transmitted, and it is discarded after the burn or when you close the app.

3. Photos you choose to burn

If you choose "Burn a photo", the app uses the Android system photo picker. The app only receives the single photo you select; it cannot see the rest of your gallery and does not request storage permission. The photo is loaded into memory for the burn and is never saved, copied, modified, or uploaded. Your original photo in your gallery is not changed or deleted.

4. Settings stored on your device

The app stores a few preferences locally on your device: whether fire sound and vibration are on, your chosen burn speed, how many burns you have completed, and whether a rating request has already been shown. This information contains nothing you wrote or any photo, stays on your device, and is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall it. If you use Android's device backup, these preferences may be included in your backup, which is governed by your backup provider's terms.

5. Permissions

Vibration – used only for haptic feedback while the paper burns. You can turn it off in the app's settings.

The app requests no other permissions.

6. Ratings through Google Play

After a few burns, the app may ask Google Play to show its standard in-app review card. That card is displayed and handled entirely by Google Play; the app does not see your rating or review. Any information you submit is processed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy.

7. Sharing of information

We do not share, sell, or transfer any user data to third parties, because we do not collect any.

8. Children

Write and Burn is suitable for a general audience. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

9. Security

Notes and photos exist only in memory during use and are never stored or transmitted, which keeps exposure to a minimum.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
